Something else that I have been hearing in regards to the Cromnibus is that it provides funding for the president’s executive amnesty. There is no funding in the Cromnibus for amnesty. While the bill is by no means perfect, it puts us in the best position to stop executive amnesty. President Obama has not yet issued an executive order on immigration; he has just written memos and made public statements. He is certainly preparing to take further action, and when he does, we will be able to fight it with a larger majority in the House and the majority in the Senate. With funding for Homeland Security only allocated through February, the Cromnibus does not fund any looming presidential actions, but rather puts us in a position to fight against it.
