Calling second year and postgrad students - free mentoring schemes - Want some help planning your career? The Uni’s mentoring schemes are a great way to give yourself a headstart in the career you want, and they are free. We have more than 100 employers in all sorts of fields willing to give you career advice and coaching. Learning from other’s experiences, and with their support, mentoring can help improve your time at Kingston and make you more employable when you graduate. Mentoring looks great on your CV, lets you make contacts who could help with jobs in the future, helps you gain confidence, understand the jobs market and gives you support and training that it’s hard to get elsewhere for free. There are four schemes available this year; you can find out more info and apply by clicking on the link. Applications for all the schemes close on Thursday 10 October. Black and minority ethnic students The black and ethnic minority undergraduate mentoring scheme pairs students with professionals from the business world. Female students in science, engineering, technology, mathematics and the built environment (S.T.E.M.B) STEMB is aimed at female students from these related areas. Students with a disability or learning difference This scheme is for students with a disability or learning difference who wish to develop new skills and knowledge to enhance their studies and employability. White male students who are the first generation in their family to go to university Through this scheme you will develop new skills and knowledge to support your studies and your chances of getting the job you want when you graduate.
