Something fun and free for kids on Wednesday: The Kids Public Safety Day will be offered from 11:30 a.m.—2:30 p.m. Wednesday on the west lawn of Cañon City High School, 1313 College, across from the Icabone Public Swimming Pool. Hosted by the Cañon City Police Department, kids will receive free swim passes good for Wednesday only; free lunch provided by CCPD; child I.D. kits; and bicycle helmets/safety check. They can visit with the police motorcycle/bike patrol; police cruisers/fire trucks/AMR; Colorado State Patrol and the Colorado Parks and Wildlife. Kids are invited to come and enjoy a fun filled day with local public safety officers.
