Something happened to me today that has never happened before. After a couple of stressful filled weeks I woke up early to run around and get some errands done before my sessions. One thing after the other wasn’t going right. After waiting in a long line to send out some mail the clerk told me I needed to change my envelope and fill out a new one. I moved to the side and proceeded to do so. After I finished they grumbled to get back into a new even longer line. The build up of a weeks worth of stress hit me all at once. Normally this would have been just an annoyance, but I could feel hot tears welling up. I can only imagine the exhausted/disappointed face I must have been showcasing because a stranger stepped out of the line and hugged me. A really sincere, genuine hug. She then placed me in front of her. I was at a loss for words. Mostly because I was caught off guard but also because it completely fizzled out my sadness/frustration. I could barely choke out a “thank you”. It’s rare to receive genuine kindness from strangers and I think it’s sad to be so surprised by it. To the woman at the callingwood post office, thank you. I needed that. #bekind
