It feels as if technologists have diverted us and enriched themselves with trivial toys, with things like iPhones and apps and social media, or algorithms that speed automated trading. Theres nothing wrong with most of these things. Theyve expanded and enriched our lives. But they dont solve humanitys big problems. Precisely. An amazing TED talk. We must understand that technology is not just about building the next big app! Coupled with good governance, engineers can solve crucial problems. Problems, that matter!
