Something has come up about which I need to make a public - TopicsExpress

Something has come up about which I need to make a public statement. It may offend some people, possibly on both sides of the issue, but I must say something. A certain Greg Miller has brought accusation against Bro. Trokon Zahn and the way he raises money for his orphanage. I am not justifying anything Bro. Zahn does or does not do in that regard. I am sure, though, given the situation in Liberia, that no matter whom he tells what to as far as money given for the children, that he still probably does not have enough to take care of their needs as should be done. Bro. Zahn has made other requests of me for money for other things that I have not allowed him to mention in this group because they had nothing to do with the purpose of this group. Besides, I happen to know that nearly all of you on this group are probably like me - lower middle class. You simply do not have a lot of money. I had a man in India one time tell me he thought all the heads of ministries in the USA had so much money that they had gold faucets in their bathrooms. (Obviously he thought al American Christians were like Jim Bakker.) I explained to him that I live in a trailer as old as my marriage (I was married in 1983, so you do the math :) ). Now I raise money for one thing: the printed word. I try to get Bibles, NTs, gospels, tracts, and good books to native workers overseas because God promised to bless His written word. Lord knows the Moslems in Saudi Arabia and the Jehovahs Witnesses and Mormons pump enough money into putting out their particular brand of spiritual poison. I cannot raise money for orphans or buildings or schools or a hundred other things that are needful on the mission field. I am not called to that. There is nothing wrong with any of those things which is why I allow news about them here in this group, but that is not my calling. My calling is to put out the word. So here is what I am asking you to do, if you can, and I am not ashamed of asking it. The need for the gospel in Liberia is REAL; the need for the word of God in Liberia is REAL. Pilgrim Tract Society has worked with Bro. Zahn before, and no matter what anybody may think of his fund-raising techniques, they are confident in his ability to get out the word of God in tract form. That is why they are sending him a second container. They need at least $6,000 to send this container to Liberia (estimates on shipping have gone up since the original container was sent; earlier reports were based on the cost of that first container). NONE of that $6,000 will go to Bro. Zahn personally; he wont see one penny of it. It will all go to Pilgrim Tract Society for shipping the container. The only paper Bro. Zahn will see from this are the gospel tracts and scripture. So I have no problem whatsoever asking you to give to them to ship this container. As for Bro. Zahns other needs, that is up to you. I do not say anything one way or the other. I dont have the money to pay my own medical bills, much less anyone elses (yes, other good people overseas have asked my help for some of the same things Bro. Zahn has, and I had to turn them down as well). I do know that Liberia needs the Bible, and Bro. Zahn is getting the Bible out in his native country. Please feel free to pass this notice on to others who may have gotten the accusations posted by Greg Miller.
