Something is wrong with this picture. This is also what happens when you make it obscenely expensive to go to college, and make for-profit prisons. Why are we paying over $70,000 a year to keep a person in jail? We could keep them in college for less. But if they are not kept ignorant, then MAYBE they might be able to keep themselves out of jail. They might start businesses, invent new technology, and compete with the hopeless assholes who want to own everything and not have any competition. Something is wrong here.
