Something on my mind: I certainly have to be very careful about what Im about to say about a situation that occurred earlier this afternoon. This has been weighing on my mind every since. I absolutely hate to see little children suffer and in need. We answered a call with the fire department this afternoon in which a domestic issue ensued. There were little children present at the home and they were literally terrified as to what was transpiring. I took them outside while the other responders handled the situation and tried to make them as comfortable as I could. I told them my name was MOOSE in which they smiled. I asked them to show me their bicycles and motorized jeep that they seemed to be very proud of. I even got into the jeep and tried to ride it in which they had a big laugh. As you know the temperature today was over 90 degrees outside. About an hour into the situation the children were thirsty, hot and tired. Especially with what happened earlier in their home. I asked them if they would like for me to go to McDonalds and get them a surprise. They were hesitant at first but told me what they wanted. They were so humble. One little boy just asked for fried. No drink. Just fries. I did them one better. They all got happy meals with toys, yogurt and even chocolate chip cookies. As they were eating It seemed they had never had McDonalds much and were overjoyed with the small prize inside the box. One litte boy just smiled from ear to ear. I think he and I became best friends right then. The reason Im sharing this is to............look around folks. These types of situations occur more often than you know. It breaks my heart to see little kids suffer. I hate it! Give these kids your time and attention. I pray for these little kids and hope they see a better life. As a matter of fact Im going to go back to their home in a few days and asked them to come the fire station for a personal tour and another trip to McDonalds :). And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name, welcomes me Matthew 18:5
