Something quite different from the usual, the renovation and remodeling of my church, featuring discarded and then fixtures from old, abandoned, boarded up churches. The back alter was salvaged from one in a near ghost coal mining town, bent back into shape and restored; the windows came from a defunct inner city church and are originally from Germany; the pews, which had to be stripped and rejoined, from still another. Good to see this old workmanship repaired and put back to use, reminding us as well that we are all connected.
