Something tastes funny! Luke 6:43-45 A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit. A tree is identified by its fruit. Figs are never gathered from thornbushes, and grapes are not picked from bramble bushes. A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart. I got up this morning and decided to put a pot of chili in the crock pot. I have this great recipe given to me by one of my very good friends, Donna. She wrote it down and gave it to me several years ago, on the promise that Id never reveal it and Id never compete against her in a chili cook-off. That was about five years ago and up till now, Ive always needed the recipe in order to get the right ingredients. But this morning I put it all together without looking at the recipe. I think I finally have it. The real test will be tonight when I sit down and taste the fruit of my effort. I gave my life to Jesus over thirty years ago and to this day I still need to refer to the recipe in order to get the right results, the right fruit. Ive tried to do it from memory a few times but that always resulted in something tasting not quite right in my life. My fruit wasnt exactly what it should have been. Ive recently been reminded of that and now Im back to cooking with the recipe book (of life) open and not from memory. Think about it and have a great day. Its all about Jesus!
