Something that has been bugging me lately is that since political correctness has been around, it seems that exceeding standards is frowned upon.......or at least recognizing those who have exceeded standards. Why would any child strive to achieve when they are getting the same rewards and recognition as those who simply meet the standard? Positive reinforcement and recognition for excellence are necessary in my opinion.
