Something that really bothers me right now (and should bother you too): The Church Jumping on the Demonizing of Income Inequality Bandwagon Faith is distributed in different measures according to Gods grace (Rom. 12). Some people have come to consider the fact that there is massive income inequality itself and in the Hereafter, we will all be rewarded in different degrees according to his work (1 Cor 3), so inequality in heavenly rewards is going to be a permanent reality! Lets call sin sin (i.e. like the sin of ingratitude or by not letting the poor glean from your fields, or by giving preference to individuals *because* of their wealth: whether because of poorness or wealth), and let us call blessing blessing. If you reverse those and call what is good evil, and visa versa, woe to you! (Isa 5:2). Also, Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand. (Romans 14:4). Also, consider the preeminently righteous (Ezk. 14:4) and wealthy Job. We would better spend our time accurately discerning between righteousness and unrighteousness in our own hearts rather than making broad categories to fit people into whom we have never met. We spend way too much time wondering how we can ever fix something that we were never intended to fix (or thinking that it is even a problem), and in the end we look government as our best hope to make it happen. In most cases, railing against income inequality is a way for the average Christian to excuse the lack of action on his part to combat poverty. We ought to all visit the imprisoned, feed the hungry, and clothe the naked, and heal the sick no question there. However, you dont gain any points, and it does not count as righteousness before God, for your form of combating these things to be little more than calling the rich (as a broad generalization) the problem. In that system of thinking, wealth distribution is the solution, not Jesus. (see also Acts 3:6, John 6:25-27, Mark 14:7)
