Something to be proud of.... This morning, I successfully introduced Hoa Sen University to the groups of 8 Singaporean students from ECO Vietnam Groups contact. They come to do recce trip for their overseas Service Learning in Vietnam. Assisted me are a group of 3 HSU students. We introduced to our Singaporean friends about our facilities and our focus on creating the good environment for students to express themselves freely and to promote creativity in students. The Singaporean are very impressed with infrastructure and facility we have for students. It is not much different to Nanyang Technological University with glass board for markers, speaker and projectors. They love the design in certain rooms such as library and Marie Curies Room( self learning room) since the design are very creative. We sat down together in room 304 and I shared about my work in the past and my work now in Hoa Sen University. They are surprised when I talked about making Service Learning as credit bearing subjects for students since even NTU, it is just a volunteering project that students can initiate. I told them more what I expect them to support for our community and for our education. It was a good meeting up. The 3 HSU students today are good. You were doing a good job to introduce our university. And I believe they are impressed with your english and confidence as well. Next time, just needed to be more proactive in talking and asking them more questions. I am actually proud to be member of HSU, especially when I talk about our mission and vision of the university. And I hope all HSU students are proud of your university as well and make use of what you got in university for your study and your service. Dont take thing for granted. That is why I always engage HSU students to host Singaporean students since I want you to learn how to introduce your university to others. I myself am able to do it but I think it is better for you to do it, HSU students. A good thing to start.:)
