Something to listen to and something to read before everyone here - TopicsExpress

Something to listen to and something to read before everyone here rests for the night: Here is a choir singing the evening hymn, The day thou gavest ... and here is a text I wrote for use during the Triduum that uses the same hymn tune - we also use it as a said responsive reading because our congregation doesnt really know the tune: The Love of God receives all darkness, Embracing even sin and shame. The Cross of Christ takes bitter sharpness, Into God’s heart, and buries blame. The yielding of Christ’s breath and Being, Is taken into Mary’s arms. Her sorrow meets all suff’ring, weeping, And seeks to heal each soul’s alarms. The humble death of God now frees us; This emptied Life empow’rs the meek. Imprisoned in the tomb, dear Jesus, Is one with all forsaken, weak. The goodness of this day is hidden, Within the ground, beneath the stone. Yet God joins every heart here bidden, As Love’s communion bears us home. Death’s pow’r has dealt its terror, its most: God’s Grace unbinds its knotted cord. In loving trust, we need never boast, Save in the Cross of Christ our Lord. Take courage! Then, in hopeful stillness, Await the dawning Light of Day. Great Peace will break with morning’s fullness, Amazing Joy will blaze the Way. https://youtube/watch?v=Pigh8VHr-ZE
