Something you should know about Griff before you continue this hate campaign towards him .. and show him the door attitude 12 months ago when Griff was approached to be captain, he refused the offer He is not a born leader and felt the pressure would be too much to captain a team, especially one that was going through so many changes Macca preferred Griff over other candidates because Griff is not the type that likes conflict, and he could be trained on the job easily Throughout the year, players were approaching Griff addressing their concerns about Macca and his coaching abilities and the way he verbally abused players behind closed doors when the game plan wasnt achieved (most weeks) This pressure on Griff who just wanted to play football took a toll On him.. Does he say something to macca or does he try and diffuse the situation at the club Morris and another player (cant remember who) but in an impressive manner took charge of the group and tried to regain some control of a club that was breaking apart.. So this leaves me with the belief that Griff took several matters to macca and Peter Gordon.. Was told that as a captain he left it too late and copped a verbal beating for it.. Reminding macca that he never wanted the captaincy he decided to speak to his manager and the move to GWS became a reality Do not be a hater of a player who did not find his strength to lead our club Any better than he showed It was one of his toughest years ever.. Emotionally he couldnt carry all this load and play his best footy Please, just respect footy players.. Its not always a greedy streak that sees them departing from our club. Mentally, he was broken and yes macca knew he didnt want the role to begin with When macca says that he made some bad decisions. This was one of them xxx
