Somethings have changed with the thoughts of Chantal today. Very minor changes with the track in the short term as we are expecting it to make landfall over either Haiti or the Dominican Republic on Wednesday. But, what is sort of concerning is that models are pulling this storm over the Florida peninsula on Sunday and then back into the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Now, at this time it certainly looks like Florida will LIKELY see some impacts from Tropical Storm Chantal as it is likely to bring at least Tropical Depression strength winds and rains to the majority of the state. The question after is, does it go north around the ridge or does the ridge build westward allowing Chantal to be stuck over the warm waters of the Gulf before turning into the southern coast of the Gulf of Mexico...time will tell!
