Sometime Saturday, dependent upon the weather, our baby girl will walk the stage at Sumter High and receive her high school diploma. She, in all her radiant beauty, complete with an infectious smile and big brown eyes, decked out in blue cap and gown (and an amazingly-hard-to-find white dress) will stroll from her seat, navigate some steps and then walk toward a handshake and a piece of paper, both representing the culmination of 12 years worth of her academic labors. Then we will watch as our last child navigates some more steps going down from that stage and she, filled with hope for tomorrow and a heart bursting with youthful enthusiasm, will walk off to begin a new chapter in her life. Understandably we will be proud of her, as good parents should, while dealing with the mix of emotions which define a major life event and the reality that time stands still for no man. She is growing toward her God-ordained purpose and our role is certainly going to change. Lord, she is coming your way...take care of our sweet, sweet, Glenna. You got a good one!
