Sometime in October to November we will be doing Project:Winter Survival again to help the homeless living on the streets. We were able to make 32 bags last year in 2 weeks, but we have grown a lot over the last 9 months and if we end up with more stuff and get more bags made this year then the plan is to give them out in Moncton, Saint John and Halifax. We have a serious problem in this Country with poverty and we understand that you cannot help someone that does not want to help themselves, but there are plenty of homeless people that want to work and want to get back on their feet. Its hard to wake up on a park bench, go use a public bathroom to clean yourself up, and then carry all your belongings with you to a job interview, and still have to worry about your next meal. The Humanity Project is not just about helping people but its about finding solutions to some of societies problems that will benefit us all. We have an idea that we are working hard on to help integrate the homeless back into society. We will have details in the next few weeks as to what the plan is, or if anyone can think of ways to improve on the plan, because nobody has all the right answers, and by working together, united we can accomplish anything. We believe that with the support of our members we can put forward an inexpensive real game changer to not just put band aids on the situation but to find solutions. When the only tool you have is a hammer you look at everything like its a nail, time to think outside the box!
