Sometime several months ago one of my roommates was putting away groceries and decided to put a package of raw meat at the back of the lower shelf of one of our kitchen cupboards. I cant say for sure whether it was Scot Milligan or Brian X Donnelly, but the meat package was strategically located behind Scots bag of golden russet potatoes, and I know that those have been there since at least April. Im not even sure what kind of meat it was because by the time I found it, just about 20 minutes ago, it was a shapeless grey throbbing mass of stench and maggots. Due to the ungodly smell I wasnt really in the mood to carefully read the label to determine the provenance of the awful package. It may have been the most disgusting thing I have ever seen in my life, and thats really saying something. Ive seen some shit in my day that would make your teeth curl. In what ended up as an awful twist of fate, I had been looking for the source of the stench in the kitchen for quite some time and had largely given up. I stumbled upon the organic time capsule whilst retrieving a baking dish to broil some chicken thighs. Needless to say, I dont have much of an appetite any more.
