Sometimes I dont know how she is doing it..... She is definitely fighting with all she has. It shatters my heart to think she may be in pain! She had her first round of the new chemo drug Campath about 1am this morning and she required more oxygen after, not sure if it was related to the treatment or the anxiety of being fooled with. Right after she started to calm down from that (with some drug assistance), she got bombarded with lab request and wound care, so the orchestra of alarms begins again. The A-line and Port had to be moved from her right arm to her left arm. Her right arm is pretty much a bruise or open sore from finger tips to shoulder. The open sores are from reactions to the adhesives or blisters that have formed and popped. With virtually no White blood cells or platelets, the sores are not healing. Its hart to find a spot on her right arm to rub her arm to console her :( Vascular surgery came in as a consult to assure us that her blue hand and fingers was more of a visual issue than a concern. They checked her pulses and said that the pulses were good and the color would fade with time. With everything now moved to her left hand, I guess its just a matter of time for that arm to resemble the right - OR NOT, with faith!!!! As long as the day goes well, they will give her the 2nd of the 4 day dose of Campath. Please pray for no adverse reactions so that she can begin to improve with the treatments. I love this girl with all my heart, which, I guess, is why all of my heart is breaking with this!!! I feel so bad for her, she is so young with a lifetime ahead of her - SHE WILL PULL THROUGH THIS!!!
