Sometimes I dont know how to write a story, its just that BIG! But Ill try so here it is... A few days ago I left the trail as it was about to end anyway to take a much longer route. The reason for this was is the fact that the route suggested to me was going to be a 6-8 day hike with no supply or people. Im usually ok with this but I was low on supplies and the whole point of the Trans Canada a Trail is to connect communities. The suggest trail (its not finished yet) didnt do that so I chose to go to Worsley which as I said was way out of the way... My friend and supporter Dave Savage set me up in a room complete with a meal in Worsley. The problem is I was running late and the place was going to close. The reason I was late was every one that drove by stopped to talk to me wondering what I was up to. I mean every single vehicle. They didnt know who I was they just were genuinely concerned for me. So no different the hotel called Dave worried about me. My feet hurt bad and after 41kms I realized I couldnt make it in time so an employee of the Worsley Gateway Inn where I was to stay offered to get me on the condition I get a ride back to the exact sane spot. So I meet Catherine Cox. I get to the In. To find out the manager Barb had upgraded my room for free to the executive suit. I mean I had a bedroom and a full living room it was amazingly awesome. So I relax and eat an amazing Chicken Pesto Pizza while I watch TV. The next morning I clean up go to the local store for food supplies and look for a place to do laundry only to learn the the staff at the Inn will do it free for me. WOW the royal treatment. Then I get a ride back to the trail by another staff member Dawn in an awesome Mustang by the way which I might choose when I cross Canada the next time lol! I hike on to a horrible wind as now Im on my own. I choose a route that will keep me in the trees a little for at least awhile. I come across an intact Deer skeleton which is rare so I stop to take pics and have fun with it. (Yes Im weird but in a good way) then I stop again to feed a couple of beautiful horses. Once again everyone stops so I meet a Wildlife Officer named Kyland and as we chat I learn hes from Rock Creek BC. Well I know Rock Creek as I walked through it on the Trans Canada Trail. Then I find a rancher checking his fence so I stop and help him buck up a fallen tree and tack his barbed wire. I love helping... It gets better...then a lady named Julie stopped with her son Mario we chat a bit. Mario had a shirt that said good at being bad. So I told him Im bad at being good. He gives me a funny look but he admits hes not bad as he climbs out and on top of the van inquisitive and mischievous and fidgety as I still am so I think we are friends now. I hike on thinking wow people are friendly around here. Once again a van pulls up its Julie. She just came back from Worsley babysit church at a ladies meeting and her son Mario asked her to find me and bring me supper do she did. We literally talked as she was parked on the road and I ate from a giant spread on her hood. It continues...extremely grateful I hike on then yet another truck stops and I meet Russell who offers a place but I want to hike more so I say Ill see him later. Not long after a storm blows in and the temp drops to 0C with rain. After 30km I call Russell and without a hesitation he picks me up with the condition I get back to the exact same spot. We get to his house which is a gorgeous rough timber home where we stay up with his nephew Colton telling lies and truths for awhile. I wake up to his mom Fran whos from out of town visiting making me breakfast. With her is little granddaughter Harper who is two and a half. I tell little Harper that a know a few Harpers myself. Shes shy at first but I love kids and kids sense that so we become friends quick. As we are talking Harper tells me her mom is coming to get her and shes going shopping then shows me a nickel. Well what I didnt mention was as I was hiking on the road I found over $4 in nickels dimes a lonnie and a few quarters. (NOT KIDDING IT WAS A PILE OF CHANGE!) so I reached in my pocket and gave her the change saying now you can really go shopping. Well she got super excited. When her mom Destiny came it was ever funnier because she didnt know I was here but had heard of me as the quaders I had met days earlier were her friends and told her about me. Moreover she tells me people I didnt meet that are her friends from Worsley follow me. COOL! Anyway despite snow and cold Im back on the trail thank you for reading this...lol I know it was long...
