Sometimes I feel like the luckiest person in the world! This - TopicsExpress

Sometimes I feel like the luckiest person in the world! This weekend, one of my very first mentors celebrated her 90th birthday and I was invited to join her crowd of admirers! The fabulous, elegant, witty Jerri Lange broke all kinds of barriers in her career. She chose a red dress to mark her birthday...great choice! Here you see her with another woman I greatly admire: Belva Davis...another icon who shares her time mentoring and helping the community. Jerri raised three sons by herself.....all of whom are highly successful. One son you may recognize from the old TV series; The Love Boat. Ted Lange played Isaac, the bartender! There were calls to bring back the show! I had the great honor of meeting Jerri when I was in college, writing a paper for a womens studies class. Jerri agreed to meet with me and spent a great deal of time sharing her knowledge and wisdom. She was one of four women I interviewed for that paper... women who never knew how much their precious time and insights affected my life. Their message came at a time when it was difficult for women to get into the media. They told me: Work as hard as you can, get your skills in place, dont be afraid to take risks and be ready when your break comes. I share that advice with all of the people I mentor these days. Jerri, you are amazing and wonderful! Thank you for what youve accomplished and what you continue to do to help the world! timesheraldonline/general-news/20140222/media-pioneer-jerri-lange-holds-sunday-signing
