Sometimes I feel like yoga students look at us Yoga teachers as super humans. You know, like we never get injured, were loaded with energy, always happy, and practice physical asana all the time no matter what is going on in our bodies. As much as Id like to say that Im super human with super human strength, I am not!!! I a normal just like you. Which is why I thought I would share a little of my yoga journey with you. Its exactly one month to the day that Ive been able to complete my full Ashtanga practice. My body has some tweaks, energy has been pretty low and sleep has been restless. I havent been able to do deep twists, second series back bends, regular back bends, drop backs, let alone a full primary practice for more than 6 weeks do to some back trauma. Physical pain is easier to deal with than the mental state it brings about. And believe you me, I know body pain like no other. It becomes really frustrating when you work so hard on something only to be slammed down by your own body!! Quite depressing...Trust me, I know!! But, I still show up everyday with a smile...thats the hardest part! I do what I can, but this time listening on a deeper level and a deeper layer of consciousness unfolds. Having a shitty attitude only prolongs the healing process. You see, I had to change in my mind first before it would change in my body. And now Im back to my full practice, but still with some modifications
