Sometimes I feel so alone in my classes. Recently, we were covering a case where a mother sued a paint manufacturer claiming manufacturer contributed to the risk causing her sons neurological injuries b/c paint contained lead. The mother moved her child from her home, which had lead, into another home that also contained lead. My classmates argued that the paint company was liable b/c they knew lead was dangerous and they continued to produce paint with lead. I was the only one who said, Wait, this case was from 2005. A parent should take necessary safeguards to protect their children from the dangers of hazardous materials! (see Thomas v Mallet, Wisc. 2005)
