Sometimes I get inspired by proactive women but then get stopped in my tracks. I get concerned and embarrassed. I think, A woman cant be a role model, Im a guy. but then I think, wait, what difference does that make? A successful and strong person is inspirational regardless of gender. I fear a lot of people feel this way. This is probably why you hear feminists saying young women need more strong role models in the media (as opposed to classical disney princesses who rely on men). Girls may feel discouraged to pursue a dream because they dont have a female role to follow. But better yet, cant we just encourage people to embrace success and accept motivation no matter what gender, color or creed?
