Sometimes I get so frustrated that Finn doesnt understand that he - TopicsExpress

Sometimes I get so frustrated that Finn doesnt understand that he has diabetes and needs insulin when he eats. This morning I over slept and the boys went on sneaky mode. Got Finn low candy on top of the fridge. All of it is either gone or opened. A total 300-400 carbohydrates. I have no idea what he ate. He was too far from Dexcom to alarm me. And Jordan was taking her morning nap and was too far away. He is in his room. Its naughty. I just keep explaining every time he sneaks for all he has to do is ask. I just need to put numbers in the pump. He just repeats what I say..Ask??? Day 3 of over 400 from sneaking. There goes that beautiful A1c we worked so hard for. Yes insulin will bring him down. But it takes hours. That coupled with not knowing how much to correct means half the day Ill be fixing this mess. 465 is wayy too high! Sneaking and diabetes is bad. Not being able to understand its bad makes my hands tied and I want to scream. Diabetes and communication disabilities in a very young child is a very very very difficult situation. Vent over. Time to check and correct over and over.
