Sometimes I go into music shops/stores for something. Every time I do so I see how difficult it must be to launch a new piece of kit that has any complicated aspects. Yesterday I was told several things that are just completely wrong. This precipitates a note to my younger friends: Funny-looking old blokes had a life before you showed up and blessed us all with your undoubtedly wonderful expertise and exciting discoveries (I mean it; I remember it). Check your facts if youre going to present them. I dont know is perfectly acceptable to a funny-looking old bloke who can see immediately that your place of employment is jammed to the rafters with incomprehensibly fiddly stuff. I also once worked in retail, admittedly in a simpler world, but it was hard going even then. By and large, I dont know either, so perhaps we could discover the facts together? Im sure your young and sharp eyes will be invaluable, and perhaps I might know when someone is trying to pull the wool over them.
