Sometimes I really, really, really struggle with anxiety. Sometimes, in struggling with anxiety, I happen upon strategies that allow me to cope and function a little better. Ive yet to find a single strategy that works 100%, every time, perfectly and forever and ever, but when the strategy Im using does work it is *immensely* helpful. The physical and emotional relief I feel is palpable, and deeply encouraging. This is how I get through any given day -- by finding and utilizing strategies for moving forward when everything else in my body is saying STOP, SHUT IT DOWN, EVERYTHING IS WRONG AND IT WILL NEVER GET BETTER. Lately my self-care strategy has looked like this: paying attention to how I feel, recognizing the changes in my body or thinking patterns when I start to feel anxious, and simply saying, Theres the hook.
