Sometimes LIFE puts us in the eye of the storm. That means we are - TopicsExpress

Sometimes LIFE puts us in the eye of the storm. That means we are not on the periphery, but rather in the center of it—the trial, the disaster, the very heart of the problem. When this happens we can do two things: first, we can turn to Scripture so we can be encouraged. Second, we can praise God for this ‘eye’ and hope that our faith will allow us to do so. Psalm 138:7 says, “Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will REVIVE me.” It is a promise of God (another promise!) that HE will revive us, or help us, in the deepest part of the trial we are experiencing. He tells us we can count on Him and we must. We must become dependent on Him however in easy times, so that we can be dependent on Him in hard times when we will really need Him. In our hard times, God will perfect that which concerns us most in our trials. But! We must learn ahead of time how to pray and how to trust Him. Reading the Scriptures is the encouragement everyone needs to battle life’s hard tests because these tests come to everyone. So, Psalm 138:1 says, “I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee.” Now, you pray: “Oh Lord, I do praise You with my whole heart and before others I do sing praises to You (because I love You and I know You love me.).” Psalm 138:2 says, “I will worship toward the Holy Temple, and praise thy name for thy loving kindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.” Again, you pray: “I do worship You and praise Your name for all Your loving kindnesses and for the truth of Your Word. You have magnified Your Word even above Your Name and I thank you and praise You this day for this wonderful gift.” Thus, you continue with the psalm, which is only eight verses, but in doing so, you connect with the God of the Universe in a very personal and loving way. And you allow Him to connect with you, a very important relationship to Him. He is to be glorified! Praise Him this day. Amen and Amen.
