Sometimes Your Best Company is You || Dubai has never been an alien city to me. Yet every time I go back something seems to have changed. The winds, twenty new coffee shops, 4 more people to meet, a little more traffic. But some people always remain constant. Those who take the effort to drive out half an hour away to my house just to meet me for 20 minutes. Those who insist on driving me around, dropping me, pampering me, asking me what I want to do, even though this city is as much home to me as it is to them. ****** Its not surprising to anyone that Id occasionally just take off to a mall alone. Spend some quality time with myself. Walk aimlessly under the moonlight, let the city lights guide me back home, my phone shamelessly abandoned at home. ****** This city always makes me feel like Im a little more glamorous than I really am. A little more polished you could say. But thats just the city reflecting back on me. It oozes glamour, but on the inside in the lanes of Bur Dubai, lies its soft side. The side that nurtured a bunch of people, taught them to run, play, love, laugh, and not the city now that would probably teach them about the right brand to buy or about the new hot-spot in town. That will always be the real Dubai for me. Not those football field sized malls, or that very famous club.
