Sometimes as artists, even when were on a roll, we have those days where we just want to throw our art in the trash and go live on a remote mountain somewhere, where no one can touch all the tender and open and vulnerable and easily hurt feelings that make our art possible. What makes our work both extremely difficult and incredibly magical is the courage it takes to continue to put those feelings out there; to share them with others knowing that they will be mocked and rejected and scrutinized and analyzed until they practically dont exist anymore because MAYBE, just maybe, one person will see that art and those feelings and feel a little bit less alone in this world, even if only for a moment. Today I am going in for a third day at the studio. Thank you, all of you, for your support and your stories and for making ME feel less alone, and for giving me the courage to keep doing what Im doing...and for keeping me off that mountain for another day.
