Sometimes being a teacher just makes you look like an idiot. Im standing on the north shore shooting pictures of the Aquarium in pitch black conditions (not idea). An older gentleman with slumped shoulders comes along and looks over my gear. I say hi, how are you? He says Im just trying to figure out how to a good night time shot. Teacher mode kicks in I explain ISO settings, aperture, and show him how thats slowed the water down in my shot. I also showed him the bracketed exposures and talked about Photomatix. He nods and asks what I plan to do with my shots. I tell him Im looking for a couple of bridge shots to put in my bedroom. And then he says, If you want to get some ideas about good angles and such come by the Aquarium market tomorrow or the Chattanooga market on Sunday. Ill have my stuff there. Im not trying to sell you anything, but sometimes you can get some good ideas from looking at other peoples work. Yeah. Sometimes being a teacher just makes you look stupid.
