Sometimes change happens that disrupts your life. Sometimes a lot of change happens that REALLY disrupts your life. Sometimes something goes wrong and that change actually ends up being something positive. Our manager is leaving the company. He is someone I respect and admire and he has been a pleasure to work for. He has always looked out for our best interests. I am very sad that he is leaving. However I am in pretty much daily contact with him on Facebook, so that certain leaves the door open to continuing and even broadening the respect and friendship that I have for him. We have had a replacement assigned, and I am very happy to say that she is someone that I also respect and admire, and I am very proud to claim as a close friend. I am looking forward to working with her. As of tomorrow I will stop teasing her so much at work, and I will promise to put aside our friendship in favor of respect and obedience during business hours, but fervently hope that our personal friendship continues away from the office... particularly since she owes me a movie! Both of these folks are on Facebook, so I will not mention their names or embarrass them. But I want both of them to know that they have had, and will continue to have, a substantial impact on my life. From both of them I have been constantly exposed to patience, grace, dedication, and unwavering support, and I am a richer person for having them in my life. I will not embarrass you guys further, but I did want to thank you both. For the one who is leaving, I wish you the very best. For the one who is taking over, I will try to provide you with my very best. No need to respond. Just smile and understand that I am sincere - no matter how awkward this pathetic thank you may be. I mean every word of it.
