Sometimes context does not matter. This is a message I shared with a client recently. Its something I wish more people understood because it applies to everything. ---- We all have built in limitations that make certain tasks difficult. (For instance, Im not very handy, I suck at physics, squats have always been a weakness, and computer science might as well be French.) So what do we do? We go in with an open mind. We acknowledge our weaknesses and realize that in some cases, it just might be harder for us and take more time and work to be successful. Does that mean we still cant get the job done? NOT AT ALL. We just tell ourselves that well kick ass no matter how long it takes, and then we accept that if it takes longer than we want that its OK. Part of becoming better is giving yourself breathing room to be human. We all fail. Its a part of life. What separates those who really enjoy life is how well youre able to take bad news and frustration in stride. Youre not any worse than you were before because you failed or fell short of a goal. I truly believe that failure is not bad. Its normal and natural. Instead, think about your mindset. Your job is not to avoid failure. Its to make sure that failure NEVER defines you. Ever. When that happens, its inevitable that you will succeed.
