Sometimes dogs are re-homed because their people didnt think it - TopicsExpress

Sometimes dogs are re-homed because their people didnt think it through and decided there was way more work than they expected. Other times, it is because a loving family is faced with a situation over which they have no control. Rosie and her brother, Smudge (to be posted soon) are from the latter. Originally, the pups mom was found in the Morley reserve, very pregnant. She was rescued and was able to have her pups in the sanctuary; with a full belly, warm, and safe. At 7 weeks, Rosie and Smudge were adopted to a wonderful family, including 2 children, in Canmore. The pups were well-raised and well-loved. 2 years later, one of the kids was diagnosed with asthma and it was clear that the dogs greatly added to the condition. With a heavy heart, the family relinquished them back to RMAR and we are now looking for their new family. In a perfect world, these two siblings would be placed together, but if that is not possible, they can be individually adopted. Rosie is quiet, gentle with kids and other dogs, and as sweet as they come. She loves to roll over for belly rubs and sometimes falls asleep in that position. This pretty girl is possibly a mix that includes shepherd, beagle and husky. She has a nice, soft, white coat with brown spots and wears her heart on her sleeve (actually, its a white marking between her eyes). She is med/large, around 60 lbs. Rose plays in the yard daily with the kids and her brother. Most days she is off leash for a run/socializing and interacts well with dogs in the off leash area. Shes somewhat submissive with them and can be a bit timid when meeting new people. She is a very fast runner and loves showing it off with other dogs. Shell be at home with a family which includes children and is active-- taking trips to the dog parks, hiking, car rides, dog classes, etc. She enjoys her soft bed, walks on the lead, and playing with other dogs and with children. When playtime is over, nothing is quite as wonderful for her as are scratches behind the ears. If you think that Rosie (and maybe her brother, Smudge) would be at home with your family, please fill out the online adoption application: rockymountainanimalrescue/adopt/online-application/ If not, please tag and share so that we can find the right family for Rosie (and hopefully, her brother).
