Sometimes good people do the right thing. A few days ago, I posted a video of me calling a health insurance company, and being offered a free cruise rather than help with my patient. The video, through no effort of my own, made it to their corporate office. The medical director of the insurance company called me personally to apologize for providing incorrect phone numbers on their authorization denial letters. He assured me the matter with the patient was already taken care of. I thanked him for his rapid attention, and his sincere apology. Id like to think I even made a new friend in the process...which is always a nice thing in the healthcare world. The patient is being scheduled for a return visit for punctal plugs. Im leaving the video up though, because (a) I in no way identified them and (b) Cmon. It REALLY is funny.
