Sometimes its VERY hard to remain professional in my job. Today was one of those days. Most if not all of you know I am adopted. Today marked the 2 year anniversary of the death of my adopted mother, the only mother I ever knew. The woman who couldnt have loved me more if she would have given birth to me. Today while already being down over this, I had to listen to a person who had no idea she was talking to a woman who was adopted, talk to me as though people who are adopted are 2nd class citizens. In fact, she told me that adopted people dont count when it comes to inheritance. When I corrected her she says: well thats not right because they are not a part of this family, she (the mother of the adopted person she was referring to) didnt give birth to him so thats just not right. It was really hard for me to simply say thats the law. and leave it at that!!!!
