Sometimes its difficult for me to sum up what friendship means. But Im pretty sure I know what it looks like. It looks like Amy Pantzer sending sweet encouraging notes of encouragement and memories of Pierre for 11 months, with hardly a reply from me. It looks like Mary Aldrich and her burritos and Chinese food, her painting clothes and lots of laughter. It looks like Bethany Barnosky dropping everything to run to my side when my world collapsed. Her stalking the sales to find me a kayak. Her long drives to take me for a special birthday surprise. It looks like Abigail Howard scouring Freecycle for things Ive mentioned I need. And picking them up. And fixing them to make them perfect. And delivering them to me. It looks like Amy Rollins Quimpo bringing her large family 2+ hours to unload a moving truck. And taking a vacation to spend 48 hours driving halfway across the country and back. It looks like Leslie Bradner, Kathy Pascover, Amy Dudar, Rebecca Ito, Lindsey Miller-Voss and so many more who have kept a perpetual stash of Chees-Its in my pantry. It looks like Paul & Beata Pantzer who spoil my family rotten whether or not they are my hosts or my guests. It looks like my parents, Mark & Wendy, who pray and cheer and laugh and cry with me on a daily basis. It looks like the friends and family who continue to surround me and my children, without disappointment and derision in their eyes and voices, without sarcastic and snide comments. Im not sure whats going to happen when you all realize Im not really worth it.
