Sometimes its hard to know whether to relate to FB on an event in your life but I have found comfort in doing so... so forgive me for this... I was running again today on our treadmill. I made it to about 1.55miles (2.5k) and faltered. Not bad I thought, a little further than last time. At that moment out of the corner of my eye I swear I saw a momentary image of Jennifer Gabriel-Powell sat in tie dye and jeans in the chair that sits in the room where the treadmill is. She and I would never sit and watch the other run, nor have I ever seen Jenn sat in that chair. The moment was fleeting, but I heard her voice (perhaps in my head) saying, Go on Pumpkin! in that excited encouraging voice of hers. So I did. I never stopped running until I finally gave out. The screen said 2.23miles (3,6km), The time 25.20 minutes. I think that is just outside 35 minutes (My target for a 5k), I broke down in tears. I have no idea whether it was the elation of going through what has been a brick wall, or whether it was that fleeting moment... or perhaps both. But there it is. I have finally found my pace. I finally believe I can run this 5k for Jenn...
