Sometimes late at night, sitting on my favorite couch with the remote in one hand and my laptop in, well my lap, I scan mindlessly through channels just passing the hours. I think of my beautiful wife down the hall curled up in bed. Then I think of each of my precious boys who are growing much faster than they should. How those two boys can be so much alike yet so different. As I type this, my youngest clumbers into the room, hair going to any destination his eyes open but not seeing. He wordlessly walks around the couch, wrapped in his blanket and timbers next to me without a sound. Asleep. I then come to the realization they are all here with me. Safe. Where nothing can hurt them. I wont let anything hurt them. I am blessed as I continue to mindlessly flip channels as I say a thank you to God for my healthy, helping, giving, beautiful family that teaches me things every day.
