Sometimes less can be more With all the new ice gear thats hitting the market these days its tough to stay ahead of the curve in the latest tackle trends. Im as guilty as the next noble fisherman wanting to spend my hard earned shekels on todays latest and greatest baits. I was armed today with many of those new baits in exciting colors. One thing for certain they all caught fish and it was fun to try them. My absolute best bait today however was a very simple and seemingly natural presentation. A simple dead stick rainbow chub on a drop shot hook with a tiny split shot to make everything sink. Lifted just 6 off the bottom this presentation was absolutely hot hot hot for me today. It out fished everything in my arsenal. If I missed a fish on the new clam time bomb spoon literally seconds later the dead stick minnow was producing. Bottom line here is on a tough bite or a slow bite sometimes less is more. Next time your on the water give this method a try you may just be impressed at how well it works.
