Sometimes looking outside the historical norm of what has been proven to work can actual be a benefit. And sometimes it isnt. Allah gives the Wisdom, Tarbia and Hediyah, to whom he wills. Those people know the difference, when to apply it, and you can sometimes tell by what Allah allows them to accomplish. Unity, Happiness, Leadership, Humbled Respect, Humility, Love and many other things from the masses, from their families, and even the Angels. There are so many things we do because of the times, because of the place we live, or the culture we adopt. This Islam has room for whatever will bring benefit defined by Allah as a benefit. Just because it wasnt done before, doesnt mean it shouldnt be done now. It also doesnt mean that we individuals are even capable of that decision for anyone else, other than ourselves.
