Sometimes loving people can be a pain especially when the gesture is not returned. Imagine trying to be nice to a colleague, a friend, relative, employer etc. and all the person gives you in return is a cold reception. In some worse scenarios, these people may be the very people you love and give your all. The good news is that we are not the only ones who find ourselves in such awkward, embarrassing and frustrating situations. The hard truth is we need to pass this love test. That brings to mind how often we reject the pure love of God. I can imagine how our ingratitude, stubbornness, disobedience, immorality, unforgiveness and the likes, pierces the heart of God and rubbishes the love He showed us on Calvary. If Jesus could love the very followers who turned their backs on him at his weakest state then we can also pass this test. Matthew 5:43-45 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.”
