Sometimes one can only marvel at the ironies of a day. I sit in auto at 4 pm. Automan asks the time after some time.I look at my watch.It says 4.20 pm. I tell him in English and then say it again in Hindi, chaar sau bees. He understands and makes eye contact. Both smile. I get off from auto and in my utter forgetfulness, I leave phone in auto, do not realise. Within 5 mins I do. Use the phone of someone work related, who Im meeting for the first time. My phone was on full battery, but it is coming switched off. Get it frozen. By 9 pm, after running around in the slush of the rainy day, Ive got myself the cheapest replacement and new SIM.I walk into nearby cafe for some food, famished and tired. A lady is doing someones tarot card reading and she looks up as I open the door and shes saying It has been a crazy, difficult six months for you, hasnt it. I stare at her and then sit down to order my meal. Phew! P.S. All numbers and stored smss gone.So do bear with me, if you call and I dont know who you are.Basic phone will also not have whats app for a while and no smss for the next 24 hours or so.
