Sometimes, our careers stress us out but Im lucky to be in one that I love most of the time. I get this huge rush out of making music and its deeply satisfying to help children realize their own musical potential. How can I possibly deny someone that love for music when it was fostered in me throughout my own life? I had some awesome (!!!) influences, starting with Grandpa Vario who got me that piano when I was five, parents who recognized my talent at an early age and cared enough to get me into as many music-related lessons and events as possible, to music teachers like Ann Mosner and Dave Cohen who helped me to grow and inspired me to pursue music as a career path. I had a great rehearsal after school with a kid whos heart is fully invested in singing and I am crossing my fingers that she nails her talent show audition tomorrow. I feel so deeply for this profession and sometimes I want to walk away. But then I have moments like this and it brings me to tears. I truly love these kids and I truly love the music. I hope I can see that through to the end of a career in this field.
