Sometimes people do not want to be figured-out. For some people, concealing their true selves for their own private realms that they and only they alone can decide who to let in or not let in is their way of existing whether it be indefinitely or temporarily. This private realm is where they express their true identity or selves. Sometimes people grow to hide who they really are because they have been violated in different ways specific to only them and are highly sensitive and vulnerable to being harmed in whatever they have been harmed. As a protective mechanism, these people are very selective and discriminatory in the manner they do and the contents of which when they do choose to express themselves. What is left is a facade that they have diligently worked on (like a suit or a mask) for some considerable amount of time. This facade accentuates and only accentuate the best aspects an individual has independently elected to reveal to the world. Acknowledging this, there are also people who are the opposite, those who show a faulty and imperfect facade to the world to hide their strong points either deliberately or because their gauge of self-confidence is not filled to the brim. All in all, do not judge people on first impression or appearance alone, for all one knows, they do not really know another individual until they unconsciously and subconsciously realise that the other person has truly chosen to show their true selves.
