Sometimes people need you to be the support, the scapegoat, the whipping post so to speak, to help them get through whatever theyre going through. Sometimes its your job to play certain roles in peoples lives to get them where they need to be. Sometimes you are called to be in peoples lives to help them the way ONLY you can, and when your jobs done, life moves on. ALL of those things are ok. Its recognizing your place and realizing when your job is done. It doesnt mean you dont care, but theres just nothing else you can do.
