Sometimes schooling can interfere with our education. In the US it is an epidemic. Educator, John Taylor Gatto, has a good name for it... the schooled are trained to be products and consumers, but of what? Most of the time, of useless toys. Consumers keep feeding the lords of a greed based economy, which is the opposite of benefiting themselves and their loved ones. In the US today, the extended childhood has reached epidemic proportions and feeds into the causes of many culturally supported mental illness, as found in the DSM 5.
