Sometimes the best way to really help someone is to help them once - TopicsExpress

Sometimes the best way to really help someone is to help them once as you are showing them how to help themselves, and be there when the try and fall; and in their failing, re-train them and encourage them that you are there with them, that they are not alone, until they make it; You must know in your heart and mind that they can make it. For, if you do not truly know and think that they can make it, they will be able to see it in your eye, and they will feed off your fears, they will make your fears their fears. And unless God has a particularly special purpose in and through their falling and rising, again and again, and if you let them, they will drain the very life energy out of you as they give in to defeat. Some things are so big and so heavy that you have no choice other than taking your hands off stepping back and trusting totally on God. God, with your love and prayer will do what all your affords, past and future could not and cannot do. All of the clichés, that often get over used and under believed, are still true, saying like: … God is greater that any problem I have… My God can do anything but fail…. God will work it out…. Wait upon the Lord; He shall renew your strength…. God is able…. You must have faith…. All these and so many more, they are things that, far to often, we give lip service to, in trying to impress other people. Or, we use them in a weak attempt to convince ourselves that we really believe in them, and when it is all said and done, we do. But, there it is again, the old… but …. Our battles come so often and they wear us down so far, that we, with good intentions, give out and give up before we receive the victory. In the times of my own trials and afflictions, I find great comfort in James chapter one, “2 My brethren, (and sistren) count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. 5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” James 1: 2-8! There is a story about the mother eagle teaching the young eagles to fly; after making the nest uncomfortable for them, in teaching them to fly she takes them up high in her care, and then she drops them, then she fly under them to catch them before they are harmed on the rocks beneath; she does this over and over until eventually they get the picture, as it were, and follows her lead and learns to use that which God gave them, the ability to fly, That which their mother taught them, they spread their wings and begin to fly, to soar high, even higher than their mother. As human beings and as Christians we must implement this principle with our in our lives and in the lives of our children, our natural and spiritual children. The rest of the story with the mother eagle is this: if after many tries the young eagles refuse to fly, the mother will, with one final attempt, fly up higher than she has in previous times and as she lets them go this time, with a loud screech, a death cry, as it were, one only a loving mother can make, she flies off, leaving them to fly or die. It may seem harsh, yet, it is like God’s word that says: if you don’t work you don’t eat. Even a handicap child or person, in the little bit that they can do, and the great love that they give, contributes! Everyone can do something for that which they need and receives. There is the oft used and oft misapplied, “Tough love, ” theory and teaching. Be that as it may, when properly applied, it works; and only true Godly love can tough love be applied, no matter what name one may call it. It works with families and it works with nations and citizens. It may not be easy to do, and even harder to explain, but it works!!!
