Sometimes things just dont work out, and thats okay. Although I started a new novel this year, I recently made the decision to abandon it after completing 6 chapters. For a number of reasons - but mostly the fact that at the moment theres just too much going on in my life to allow me the luxury of concentrating upon it. Though some writers work best under adversity and pressure, Ive never been one of those. My work has always flourished when Ive been able to clear my mind completely and abandon myself to whatever zone these stories come from. Ive been putting too much pressure on myself for too long now to produce at least one book every year, and Im permitting myself to step back from that. That doesnt mean Im done with writing - far from it - but if my output slows a little, its all for the greater good. A new novel will be released within the next few months, and after that... well who knows? Ive nothing definite lined up, which is unusual for me, nor am I working on anything. Im not going to feel bad about it. As always, I thank you for your support, and I hope that youll stick with me. I know when I return, Ill be refreshed and recharged and that the best is yet to come.
